Pumpkin Pie

A very special Thanksgiving dessert.

Today I’m sharing something special: Grandma’s recipe for Pumpkin Pie. This recipe was handed down to me in November of 2006. I still remember seeing the biggest smile on her face when she saw that I had prepared her recipe. We miss having her with us; especially during the holidays. I am thankful we can still remember her with recipes like this one.

Happy Thanksgiving!

  • 1 prepared pie shell or pie crust
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 15 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ginger
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • Whipped cream
  • Nutmeg

  1. Prepare pie crust.
  2. Preheat oven to 375° F .
  3. Place in a mixing bowl the pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk, egg, brown sugar, and spices.
  4. Blend until all ingredients are incorporated.
  5. Roll out the pie dough and place into a 9 inch pie dish.
  6. Pour the pumpkin mixture into prepared pie dish.
  7. Bake for 40 minutes.
  8. Let the pie cool completely before serving.
  9. When serving, top the pie with whipped cream and nutmeg.
  10. Enjoy!
